Farmers ResourcesEmpire AgriFuel owns a vertically integrated crush and biodiesel plant, which will be located in Cortland, NY. The first phase of the plant (the crush portion) is scheduled for completion and operation in March 2009. The plant will have crushing capabilities of 300 tons/day of soybeans and/or canola. This facility will have a broad economic impact on New York State in the form of increased revenues. These revenues will be distributed to our agricultural sector as a result of the direct relationship between the purchase price of various oilseeds (i.e., soybeans and canola) and the number of processing plants in New York. For example, New York farmers receive an average of $2.00 below the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) prices because New York processes less than 30 percent of the soybeans grown in the State. The following informational links provide details on the process: |
